My April Fool of a Dad
Yesterday (April 1) was Dad's birthday. He is 71 years old. We stopped in and gave him a piece of cake with a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to him. We spent time talking with him and Mom. It was a fun part of the evening.
Before we stopped in at Mom and Dad's we went to the library and I signed up to be a tutor for the Adult Literacy program. They will call me when they find someone who needs to learn. I'm excited and yet a little apprehensive. Can I really do it? They don't have a set curriculum but they have lots of books to help me plan what to teach. The first meeting will be helping my student set goals for our time. Out of that, we can figure out what books to go through. Pray that I get the person God wants me to get. I asked for a female.
A good book to read it "The Shack." I just finished it. It is like a modern day Pilgrim's Progress. For more info go to their website: http://www.theshackbook.com/. Such a good story of God's love for us in Christ Jesus.
